NodeJS, Nginx, and Linux server management

Updated 4 months ago

A guide...

Very basic beginner documentation to get up and running with a Linux web server and NodeJS.

Prerequisites:

  • Github account (or Gitlab, though I won't cover that here)
  • Linux unmanaged server - private or "virtual private server" (I use Ubuntu v17, $5/month from Digital Ocean)
  • Mac or Linux computer with development environment set up - choice of terminal, code editor, etc.
  • A domain name (I recommend using Name.com, as they have an excellent UI for managing DNS and other options)
